Le Vélo = L'Amour

Cyfac is steeped in the heroic era of cycling's history.  Long before a world television audience, multi-million dollar contracts, and massive sponsorship dollars, riders rode for glory, to escape a fate of working in the mines or the local factory, and for the chance to prove their mettle.  Racing across the windswept pavé of Northern France, the sinuous descents of the Italian Riviera, or the dusty plains of Spain's interior, a rider would often race an entire season on just one bike.  Through crashes, punishing classics, and tortuous grand Tours, that era's riders didn't race in a disposable sport.  We stand for this and the beauty and authenticity that comes from making one's own product.

Built to last

Before the era of mass-production, bikes were built to-order and to-last.  We carry that spirit through to today, offering our clients the very best in quality.

Built by us

When you ride a Cyfac you'll notice the difference that comes from a skilled, artisan-quality production.  We aren't just a marketing company.  We are builders.

Well,I have ridden a few bikes now over the years. The Cyfac Gothica CS remains the Bentley Continental of bikes. Fast, light, impeccable steering, almost mountain bike levels of comfort on 700c 23mm tyres, magic carpet on 25’s. Disturbingly awesome. And brought me safely to a controlled stop after a 35mph downhill blow out on the front tyre. Not many manufacturers can claim that, though I don’t think I meant to spec ABS! Top bombing guys. Love the bike.

History.

Since 1982, we've been building frames for Olympic medalists, Tour de France contenders, World Champions and passionate riders across the world.

Cyfac’s founder, Francis Quillon, began as the frame builder to cycling’s greatest stars.  Cyfac started as a simple workshop atelier building framesets for the greatest French stars of the 1980's.  Laurent Fignon, Thierry Marie, Thierry Clavreyolat, Charly Mottet, Marc Madiot, Richard Virenque and nearly every French pro from the 1980's to 2000's raced on a Cyfac painted in their team's livery.  Through the decades we also built for more of the sport's legendary greats, including Chiapucci, Pantani, Vandenbroucke, Miller, and more.  As the real frame beneath a sponsor’s paint, Cyfac creations were chosen for their precision craftsmanship, quality, and fit. Technologically- advanced and dependable, each frame was built to withstand the demands of hard grit European racing and training. Across the rugged pavé of northern France, the sinuous descents of the Italian coast, and the fierce crosswinds of the Spanish plain, Cyfac frames have been ridden to victories in the sport’s most prestigious events. The experience and team spirit of the racing peloton carries to our workshop floor.

Cyfac was the first builder to TIG-weld aluminum frames, making the lightweight aluminum frames for Claudio Chiapucci and Marco Pantani and others.

As the first European titanium builder, Cyfac offered a growing list of options, including the world's only full-custom alu superbike design (since outlawed by the UCI). Cyfac's avant-garde efforts culminated in the first full-custom, full-carbon lug-less frameset, the Tigre. The revolutionary Cyfac carbon-stratification process brought old-world hand-craftsmanship together with 21st century technologies.

Nestled in France’s picturesque Loire Valley, Cyfac has been expertly crafting bicycle frames for more than 30 years. Drawing inspiration from the world-famous vineyards and epic cycling lanes of our terroir, our artisans infuse each frame with a time-honored attention-to-detail and passion for cycling. We are a different breed of frame builder, focusing on our customer’s unique needs and desires ahead of mass-production and one-size-fits-all products.

Across our range and in the way we work, we put the finish line before the bottom line to ensure your fit, enjoyment, and lasting performance of each Cyfac frame.
